Creating a buzz for Beehive Money

THE HEADSCRATCHER

With 44% of Brits estimated to have some form of digital-only banking within 5 years and challenger banks such as Monzo and Starling on the rise, Beehive Money challenged us to evolve their digital presence – and fast.

We found that on average, people stay with their banks for 17 years, so we had to disrupt loyalty to competitors while getting people onboard with an easy to use, hassle-free online-only savings product. While the challenger banks offer a fast-setup, fast-spend experience, we needed something more holistic that stood out to our audience and got them thinking longer term.

THE BIG POSITIVE IMPACT

Creating a brand and website to help Beehive disrupt the financial services landscape and help encourage a younger audience to start saving for their futures was no mean feat.

First, we updated the brand to become more modern, easily translating across multiple channels. Creating a real honeypot for our audience with illustrations, engaging animations, and a new brand guidebook to keep things consistent.

We then created tools to help make it easy for users to see how their money could grow. Including a Lifetime ISA calculator for people thinking about buying a home or retiring, a jargon-busting account-selector and a super sweet savings budgeting tool.

And our busy bees didn’t just stop there. We noticed a needs-based gap between savings and mortgages. So we decided to help our audience even more by also integrating mortgage support for home buyers into the Beehive Money experience.

From one website brief, Beehive has become the hub of information and tools to help people save for the things that matter.
